The Miradouro do Salto do Cavalo closes the itinerary of northeastern viewpoints. In the parish of Salga, even at the extreme of the county, Salto do Cavalo you get a sumptuous view over the Furnas Valley, and to the Island's north and south coast. You arrive at this viewpoint through a detour indicated on the Regional Road before reaching the parish of Salga. Around the belvedere, you can also see some Laurissilva, and in the summer and winter months it is also possible to observe a small bird called "priolo".

Overlooking the village of Furnas, this viewpoint is 760 meters high allowing stunning vistas towards the volcanic vale of Furnas, the Povoação village, and the Atlantic Ocean on both the north and south sides of the island.
