The Cerrado das Freiras Viewpoint is one of the magnificent viewpoints on São Miguel Island. From this lookout point, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Lagoa das Sete Cidades, the incredible volcanic caldera that boasts two lagoons, the blue and the green lagoon. This viewpoint is one of the most popular on the island and is ideal for taking photos and capturing all the beauty of the lagoons.​

The Cerrado das Freiras Viewpoint is on the same road as the Lagoa de Santiago Viewpoint, starting from the Sete Cidades bridge that separates its two lagoons. This viewpoint is easily accessible by car, and there is parking nearby, although you can also reach the viewpoint on foot or by bike from the town of Sete Cidades.​
